Safeguarding

If you have a safeguarding concern that you would like to report, please contact Ann Lorek, our Parish Safeguarding Officer, whose details are below.  Alternatively you can speak to one of the clergy.

The care, well being and safety of all people is of utmost importance to us. You can read our Parish Safeguarding Policy here, and our policy for responding to domestic abuse here. The ‘Code of Safer Working Practice’ that all staff and volunteers are expected to follow is here.

We are part of the Diocese of Southwark. We adhere to the diocesan policies, procedures and guidelines for safeguarding children and adults who may be vulnerable, which are set out in A Safe Church – available here.  A hard copy of A Safe Church is kept in the Church Office, although we recommend viewing it online for the most up-to-date version.

The Church of England’s Safeguarding Policy Statement is available to read here.

If you suspect that abuse of any kind is taking place, follow ‘the four Rs’:

RECOGNISE the signs that abuse is happening

RESPOND sensitively to the situation, watch and listen – don’t question or investigate

RECORD what you have seen or heard, and do so factually and accurately, using the language used by the person disclosing

REPORT your concerns immediately to our Parish Safeguarding Officer who will take the next steps as required

Our Parish Safeguarding Officer is Ann Lorek
